TRANSCULTURAL REFLECTIONS

When reading about Eastern European Jewry and its golden age, I discovered the need to apply some of its values and preferences to our current world...

Life to them was not merely an opportunity for indulgence, but a mission that God entrusted to every individual. (...) Every man constantly produces thoughts, words, deeds. He supplies these products to the Powers of Holiness or to the Powers of Impurity. He is constantly engaged in either building or destroying. (...)
Piety is more important than wisdom, naïveté ranks higher than speculation, the God-fearing man is above the scholar. By their apotheosis of simplicity, of warm faith, of humaneness and desirable moral qualities, they paved a way to God for the ordinary man.

Pues eso, ora et labora, y "ora lo que laboras" :)
